Ganglion

A ganglion cyst is a tumor or swelling on top of a joint or the covering of a tendon (tissue that connects muscle to bone). It looks like a sac of liquid. Inside the cyst is a thick, sticky, clear, colorless, jellylike material. Depending on the size, cysts may feel firm or spongy.

Ganglion:
Ganglion is very common, we get a lot of people who have ganglion asking us if we can help them.

Typically the reason they come to us is because the way it looks scares them, they think that it is going to be some cancerous growth or in some people, it starts to pain while they are working.

How common is Ganglion
Ganglion cysts are more common in women. About 3 in 10,000 people develop ganglion.

What is ganglion
Ganglion is a firm nodule, a swelling that usually comes around the wrist or sometimes near the knee, ankle and, foot.

Ganglion can be a little firm, spongy. It starts protruding when you flex your hand.

Ganglions do not become cancerous, they are not at all dangerous. They probably look a little odd and sometimes it can cause a little bit of pain but they are not dangerous.

Why ganglion happens
The cause of ganglion is not clearly known and let us not get into the details of it. It usually happens in people who work on computers, who play video games or people who do a lot of physical work.

When there is tissue damage or trauma it causes the cells of the tissue to breakdown and become a mass.

(or)

When there is a trauma or injury, it causes leakage of fluid out of a joint or tendon and forms a swelling beneath the skin.

Allopathic approach:
There is no treatment in allopathy for ganglion except surgical removal but you need to understand that even if you surgically remove it, it will come back again after few months.

How did it form in the first place, it did not come out of nowhere, there is a process that is happening in your body because of which this swelling has come up. So even if you surgically remove it how will you stop the process? As long as this process continues you will get ganglion again even after surgical removal.

Homeopathic approach:
Homeopathic medicines stop the process of the ganglion, which means we put a stop to any further deposition of cells or tissue or fluid that is happening so that no new ones will come and the existing ones will not grow in size.

Once you start on the medication, over a period of few months these ganglions will disappear. We have a lot of people who come and say that the ganglion is gone but we do not stop the medicines immediately because there is a chance of it coming back.

Within a month or two it disappears but do not stop the medicines because it can come back again, continue for about three to six months or be in touch with the doctor so that the process is completely stopped.

What happens if you don’t treat ganglion
If left alone, ganglion increases in size and over a period of time can cause pain if it compresses a nerve.

Diet restrictions:
There are no diet restrictions to follow.

What would I do if I were in your place?
I would for sure not go for surgical removal, I know that I am not risking anything by giving Homeopathy around 3 to 6 months to try and get rid of the ganglion.

Do not go for a surgical removal until you have given Homeopathy a try for at least about three to six months. Ganglion is something that can be easily taken care of with homeopathy. Trust me, nothing is going to happen to you in these three to six months’ time. But if these medicines can help you avoid surgery and get rid of the ganglion permanently for the rest of your life, isn’t it worth giving it a try?

Take care. Stay safe.
